Pinellas Trail

There is a great bike trail that runs from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg. We have enjoyed exploring it over the last month. A woman I met here and I rode 32 miles one day mostly on the Pinallas Trail. It's such a safe way to bike. Another time Tom and I enjoyed the trail in Clearwater and Dunedin. Here are a few pictures along the way.

Jersey Girls!

Last year I reunited with my best friends in high school. Our 50th reunion was approaching and they found me. We have been in touch ever since and planned our 2nd reunion for this month in Sarasota Florida. Maureen and Marlene flew down from New Jersey and Tom drove me there from Clearwater Beach. What fun we had staying at the BEAUTIFUL Cypress B&B that Nina owns along with Vicki and Robert. We spent five days talking and laughing and sightseeing. The B&B is located right across from Sarasota Bay and within easy walking distance of Sarasota's historic downtown with it's wonderful restaurants. My loose pants became my tight pants in a matter of 5 days! We had such a great time with Vicki and enjoyed Robert's delicious breakfasts! Tom joined us the first and last days and we all look forwatrd to the next time we get together- Canadian summer?

Dinner after the Game - Bon Appetit

After the ball game we went to a wonderful restaurant in Dunedin, Bon Appetit, on the bay across from Clearwater Beach .In the first picture you can see our condo in the distance. Dunedin is a lovely little town with a great waterfront. We enjoyed our time with Tom's cousin George and his girlfriend Yvonne. It was so nice to spend time with them in Florida. The heron was really hanging around the dock by the restaurant waiting for the fisherman to catch something. He was very patient and posed quite well for me.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

We had a great day watching a Spring Training game - the Blue Jays and the Orioles in Dunedin. The weather was perfect! We were there with Tom's cousin and his girlfriend. The game was tied 6-6 in the 10th inning. In spring training the game ends at that point. It was lots of fun!

Day Trip to Venice and Siesta Key

We went to Venice Island and found a wonderful art festival. We had lunch at The Crow's Nest on the Bay and then went to the Gulf across the street and found many avid surfers. We were disappointed with the beach. We have come to love the white sugar sand of Clearwater Beach. The day was getting cloudier and windier as we headed to Siesta Key. We fell in love with the beach ( #1 in USA). We headed home and I took this last picture from the balcony. A fun day even if the weather was not so good.

A Few Paintings

Here are two acrylic paintings I have finished since being in Florida. The birds (Who's Missing) is a picture from Fort Myers Beach near our condo. The second one is from Clearwater Beach. I think the sand looks too much like snow! More to come.

Our Neighbourhood in Clearwater Beach

Just a quick walk through our neighbourhood and we found a couple of cute beachfront homes, flowering bushes and trees, and sand dunes.As well as a wonderful gate! Our condo is in a residential area (not sure how the zoning bylaws allowed that) but it is a great spot to meander through.
